Race Day Packet Pick Up & Registration
We’ll have all your gear at the start line waiting for you on Sunday, Oktober 6 before the race from 9:00am – 10:40am. Just make sure to arrive early. This helps avoid long lines and allows you to go through ID Check prior to enjoying the beer stops on course.
Kids Root Beer Run participants will also pick up their swag and bib/timing chip on race day. They’ll be available between 9:00am – 10:40am then will either still be located inside the Centennial Tent (if raining) and outside, near the finish line (start of kids run) if sunny out.

the Parking
This one is easy – see the Map above? Boom. Parking. If you don’t bring the map, keep your eye out for the BLUE gate and BLUE parking lot. Also…..it’s free.
the Swag
We are pretty happy with the swag coming for this year’s event and think you should be too. Everyone entering will receive:
kids Root Beer Run
That’s right, the adults don’t get all the fun. The Kids Root Beer Run is for all those 10 and unders coming out. A 1/2 mile kids run mimicking the Stein Dash, these kids will run, chug, run! At the halfway point, kids will be greeted with a root beer to chug before racing to the finish line. All kids will receive:
Kids may run/walk/stroller the 5K with parents free of charge. The Kids Root Beer run will not start until the 5K has ended at 12:30pm (May be delayed until the 5K has finished)
Kids start line will be located near the adult finish line
Parents are welcome to participate with their kids in the Root Beer Run free of charge
All kids swag & race packets will be available inside the Centennial Tent (across from Blue Gate) until 10:40am. After this time, if it is raining, packet pickup will remain inside the large tent. If its sunny/not raining, we will move kids packet pickup to the finish line area, which is near where the kids run start will be (by the finish line)
*NOTE – Only 2 parents/guardians of Root Beer Run participants will be allowed to enter (with their Root Beer Runner) free of charge. Oktoberfest NW is half price on Sundays for all other members of the family wishing to enter/watch.
the Packet
Timing Chips, Bibs, Safety Pins, Steins, and Shirts will all be ready to get picked up Saturday the 9th or Sunday the 10th. No need to be there any other day but race morning. Makes things simpler that way. And we aren’t trying to tell you what to do, but it opens at 9:00am and the lines are usually shorter earlier.
the Gear
It is assumed that after burning up the race course and having a few drinks – you will be ready for some more. Feel free to use our Gear Check to store whatever you might want to finish out the day wearing. It will be located right near the start/finish line and you can see it on the map above. Gear Check will move from the start/finish line to lost & found inside Oktoberfest NW starting at noon.
the Legal
Remember those days when you weren’t 21 and people were doing fun things you couldn’t?
Not anymore, Congratulations.
However, if you are still in that 21 and under category….we have some bad news…. While we certainly want you to come, enjoy, and win our race – Washington Law says we cannot serve you beer. Good news – while everyone else drinks a beer at Oktoberfest, you will get a free Rootbeer, and considering you aren’t going to be running full of beer – you probably won the race.
Therefore, Congratulations to you as well.
the Costumes
Speaking of costumes…..that’s happening too. It’s Oktoberfest – let’s look like it. After your run, you’ll join all the other people enjoying Oktoberfest – most of which are decked out in their finest dyrndls and lederhosen. You don’t want to look out of place right? Join in the fun and wear your best Oktoberfest gear to run in! We’d love for everyone to look festive and fun but we also want to keep it classy, so use that stellar judgment when choosing what to wear.
the Host Hotel
Some people are planners and manage to make excellent decisions on how to enjoy the Oktoberfest Saturday night yet still be rested in time for the run on Sunday morning. If you are one of those people or want to pretend you are, we have a hotel suggestion for you!
Runners attending the event can use the following link to reserve a standard King or Two Queen room at the rate of *$149 – Rates for Saturday Oct 7th today are $207 + tax.
Oktoberfest Attendee Guestrooms, Fairfield by Marriott Puyallup
This block will be active until midnight on Sunday, September 18th. After that time, guests will not be able to reserve a guestroom using the Oktoberfest Attendee discount.
Volunteers are an essential part of the Stein Dash! Volunteers help pass out event supplies, manage the finish line and pass out beer at the on-course beer stops!
All volunteers will receive a race shirt, event stein, free entry into Oktoberfest NW and their first drink on us!
